Are you by any chance using one of those chemical-laden, disposable cleansing cloths like Olay? If so, please stop and check out this eco-alternative called Juicy Bamboo which has no harsh chemicals and is 100% biodegradable.   Honestly guys, there are just way too many chemicals by-products that get added into beauty products these days which are known endocrine disruptors. This means they disrupt our female hormones leading to acne, fertility issues, PMS, and of course, female cancers. If you don’t believe me, read Not Just a Pretty Face.

Fortunately, I was contacted by Toronto-based Kaia Naturals that just launched a healthier alternative of of chemical-free, disposable skin cleansing cloths. 1. I am interested in protecting the environment but still would like to have beauty products to enhance the glow healthy eating can provide. However I do not wish to use unhealthy chemicals that will undermine my efforts to gain and improve my health. I especially wish to avoid endocrine disruptors for my own sake as well as the health and safety of those around me who could be affected by the “fragrance” ingredient in so many beauty products.

  2. to me eco beauty is important for various reasons but one that strikes me is that skin is actually your largest organ and it literally ABSORBS everything you put on it! no chemical should be allowed! respect the skin you’re in and respect the planet!

  3. I have to honestly say that I have yet to look into eco-friendly/chemical-free beauty products that are on the market today. I would love to have the chance to give this product a try.

  4. I am 62 years old and have always been reluctant to use any standard “beauty ” products” because of the toxic chemicals that they may contain. To wash my face I just use water but would love to try something that is environmentally friendly as well as toxin-free.

  5. I choose eco-friendly products whenever possible, and I have to say I don’t miss the regular drugstore products at all. There are very good products for you and the planet on the market. Choosing eco-friendly beauty products is a very selfish decision, I to it for me, for my health.

I must admit that wipes are a must when traveling, and I’m guilty of still using Olay. To know that there is now an alternative is so exciting!

  6. I recently read a book by Monona Rossol about the danger lurking behind the so called safe and non toxic products. It is scary how companies lie to people for the sake of money. I use lots of make ups and hair dye, and I thought it was safe until my son was born with birth defect. Rossol stated that chemicals absorbed by the skin and can stay in internal organs that may cause cancer, allergies, birth defect and so on. I dumped all my make ups and trying to find an honest make up company that sells natural and real safe products. Beauty is important, but not to the extent that we sacrifice the health and environment.

  7. Over the years the beauty industry has started putting more and more chemicals in beauty products without knowing or caring about the long term health of the people who work to produce them, the people that wear them or the animals they test them on.

The worst part of this situation is that they know they can get away with it because society places such a value on beauty, that many women buy in regardless of the cost to their health or the environment. It’s great to know that some companies do care and are trying to make products that are different.

  8. eco-beauty is important to me because I care about what goes in my body and I know my skin absorbs what I put on it. On top of that, when things like chemicals enter through the skin they get into the bloodstream bypassing the liver who plays a major role in detoxification – scary!

  9. Amazing answers everyone. I wish I had a ‘like’ button to ‘like’ them all!
